Mt. Everest Base Camp Trekking via Jiri is an ancient route that takes us through different villages, High Mountain passes, green valleys surrounded by snow pick Himalayas, Tibetan Buddhist culture and monasteries and green forest with rare birds and wild animals. In this route , you will enjoy huge Himalayan panoramic views of the Mt. Everest , Mt. Lhotse , Mt. Nuptse , Mt. Amadablam , Mt.Pumori, Mt. Thamserku etc. Being an ancient route it still continues to be one of our most rewarding journeys. This is the route taken by Sir Edmund Hilary and Tenzing to summit the Everest 1953 . So, If you have enough time for travel in Nepal we highly recommend you to follow this route. Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal/ Transfer to hotel
Arrival in Katmandu, transfer to hotel by our staff, brief about trip, and well-come dinner at evening through the typical Nepalese kitchen
Day 02: City Sightseeing day:Full day Kathmandu valley sightseeing
(Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swyambhunath, Boudhanath, Pashupatinath )
Day 03 Drive to Bhandar via Jiri and stay at teahouse 7 hour
Our day starts in Kathmandu and we set off to Bhandar after breakfast. We pass Jiri and reach to Bhandar in around 7 hrs of bus drive.
Day 04: Trek to Sete (2,575m) stay at teahouse 7 hour
Early morning trekking starts from Bhandar. We head on the descending trekking trail crossing Dokharpa and Baranda villages. The gradual descends then takes us through Kenja, Chimbu and Sete.
Day 05: Trek to Junbesi (2670 m): stay at teahouse 6/7 hrs
Trekking trail is ascending from Sete. We start the trekking and pass through beautiful forest of Rhododendron. We cross the villages of Dagchu and Goyem. Moving ahead further, we reach the village of Junbesi.
Day 06: Trek to Nunthala (2220m) stay at teahouse 6/7 hoours
We start our trekking from Junbesi early in the morning. Beautiful Himalayas Everest, Mt. Lhotse, Makalu, Thamseruku all are visible in their best forms. Crossing Ringmo, we reach to Nunthala for over night stay.
Day 07:Trek to Bupsa (2,360 m) stay at teahouse 6 hours
Trekking continues from Nunthala today. Trekking journey is around 6 hrs long and passes through panoramas of upper Khgumbu region. We head forward on the trekking trail to reach Kharikhola. For our overnight stay we continue trek towards Bupsa.
Day 08: Trek to Surke (2,290m) stay at teahouse 5/6 hrs
Today, the trekking starts from Buspa. We trek for around 6 hrs through the trail that passes through forests. khari La Pass greets us with spectacular views of mountains Gyachung kang and Khumbila. Further, we follow the gradual trail to Surke. We spend overnight in Surke.
Day 09: Trek to Phakding (2,610m) stay at teahouse 4/5 hrs
We trek for around 5 hrs today to reach Phakding. The gradual trail passes through Chaurikharka and Chhiplung villages. Overnight stay is arranged in Phakding
Day 10: Trek from Phakding (2610m) to Namche Bazaar (3500m) and stay at teahouse 6 hours
After trekking to Namche Bazaar, we stay in a teahouse lodge and enjoy this mountain region.
Day 11: Acclimatization day at Namche Bazaar (3500m) and stay at teahouse
Namche Bazaar is the gateway of the Himalayas, and is very popular among trekkers, and also has many hotels (teahouses) and good Internet access. We will spend a day here adjusting to the altitude.
Day 12: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3850 m) and stay at teahouse 5 hour
Today we trek to Tengboche, a location famous for its spectacular views and unique building structures. It is also the site of an important Buddhist monastery and is also known as the home of the Sherpas.
Day 13: Trek Tengboche to Dingboche (4350m) and stay at teahouse 5 hour
From Tengboche, we journey to Dingboche which is also very popular among trekkers. Dingboche is noted for its many stone walls and with homes being built from stones of different sizes from the entire valley.
Day 14: Dingboche – Duglha (4,600 m) 3 hours Stay at Teahouse
We continue our trekking adventure from Dingboche early in the morning. We take an ascending trail from Dingboche passing through Khumbu Khola. Following the trail we pass through Phulung Karpo, Dusa and finally the Chola Lake. We are greeted all the way by majestic views of Mt. Pumori, Mt. Cholatse and Mt. Thamserku. We finally rech to Duglha village for overnight stay.
Day 15 Duglha – Lobuche (4,950 m) : Stay at Teahouse 2 – 4 hrs
The trekking trail goes ascending from Dugla. Our trekking destination today is Lobuche. We pass through Chupki Lhara enjoying beautiful Himalayas surrounding us. Mt. Lingten, Mt. Pumori and Mahalungur Himal are the panoramic attractions through our trekking trail. Around 3 hrs of trekking through the beautiful landscapes takes us to Lobuche, the overnight stay destination.
Day 16: Lobuche – Everest Base Camp(5360m) – Gorak Shep(5160m) Stay at Teahouse 7hrs
After breakfast, we trek towards Gorakshep. Our main destination for today is Everest Base Camp, where we head after lunch. Attractions today are Close and compelling views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Ama Dablam among others. We return to Gorak Shep for Overnight stay today.
Day 17: Gorak Shep-Kala Patthar (5545m) to Pheriche Stay at Teahouse 6hrs
We sacrifice our morning sleep today with an early wake up, which is easily justified bythe Devine Sunrise view from Kala Patthar. Our breakfast is planned on return at Gorak Shep. We head to Lobuche cherishing panoramas of Himalayan beauties and have our lunch. We then head towards Pheriche for Overnight stay.
Day 18: Pheriche-Pangboche-Tengboche-Namche Bazzar (3,440 m) Stay at Teahouse 5/6 hours
Trekking starts from Pheriche early in the morning. The trail we follow today is rich in rhododendron forests and vast flora and fauna. We reach Pangboche followed by Kyangjuma before reaching Namche Bazaar. The walk is concluded in around 6 hrs before we spend the overnight in Namche Bazaar.
Day 19: Trek from Namche Bazaar to Lukla (2800 m) and stay at teahouse 5 hour
After breakfast, we will trek back to Lukla .
Day 20: Depart early in the morning flying back from Lukla to Kathmandu stay in hotel
This is departure day for us. Early in the morning, we will arrive at the airport and fly back to Kathamandu. After being transported to our hotel, refreshments will be provided.
Day 21: Free day in Kathmandu / final program before departure
This free day allows you to enjoy Kathmandu on your own. We will have a farewell program together before your final departure
